Did you or are you planning on having kids in or at your wedding? Neil and I decided that we would not be having kids at the wedding but would have his niece and nephew in the wedding. As our wedding is taking place later in the night, the kids will most likely not make it to the reception or after-party part of it but they will, however, be part of the most magical part of the day, the ceremony as our ring bearer and flower girl.
During this whole wedding planning process, I have been saying,
” That I was never that little girl that dreamt about my wedding but I was a woman who planned for my wedding. ”
Even though I didn’t dream about the big day, I did dream about my perfect mate and my walk down the aisle. Including what the bridal party will look like, etc. I have been making this joke that Madison our niece will be the only other girl allowed to wear white on our wedding as she is our flower girl and all.
I always knew where I wanted to get her flower girl dress at David’s Bridal. Not only do they have incredible wedding dresses, click here to check out my bridal dress consultation, they also have incredible dresses for bridesmaids, wedding guest dress and of course the sweetest flower girls dresses. They even have flower girl shoes!
Not only are they the cutest dresses ever, but they are also affordable and come in different colors! This past week my girlfriend, her young daughter and I headed to our closest David’s Bridal to try out some of their flower girl dresses, as my niece thousands of miles away, my friend’s daughter stepped in to help me see their selection and find the perfect one for my niece as they are about the same size not to mention both just too adorable.
From the moment we walked into David’s Bridal we were met with such kindness and warmth, I have to say I had the same experience when I went to try on my bridal dresses as well. From the manger to the consultants they couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating. Especially working with little ones, our consultant was so helpful in making the experience fun for her and non-stressful for adults, not to mention seeing her little face light up as she saw herself in a sparkly dress and shoes to match just melted our hearts! She was beaming from ear to ear and of course, felt like Elsa and did a spin for us! She asked if I was going to be a princess too and I, of course, had to put a dress on with her so I could so how it would look all together! We had the best time, twirling and trying on dresses together!
Seeing her try on these dresses brought such a smile to my heart it made me think of the future and how when or if we have a baby girl how it will be to see her in a flower girl dress and then her own wedding dresses. It made me think of my own parents and how in less than 6 months they will see their little girl become a “ woman.” I am actually doing something really special with my father at the wedding that has to do with a first look and a picture of me as a flower girl 26 plus years ago. Which leads me to say a flower girl dress is very important because she is someone’s little girl who will one day be someone’s wife, to have that memory is something that sticks with you at least for me it did and I am so happy I have chosen to create those memories with David’s Bridal. From the consultation to the dress, to the accessories to the day, I know that David’s Bridal played a part in shaping memories for a lifetime.
