How To Poach The Perfect Egg

poached egg

Poached Eggs might have to be my favorite way of eating eggs, I usually keep it simple and toast some bread. If I am feeling like being really healthy I use avocado as a spread instead. There is something about the yolk oozing out all over the perfect crunchy toast, that just makes starting the day that much better.

What you will need:

  1.  2 organic eggs
  2. 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
  3. Approximately 2 to 2-1/2  cups of water
  4. Salt

Instructions

Break the eggs into a small cup first and not directly into the boiling water.

Cooking note: You will want to poach your egg in a deep pan. In the water you will add vinegar, this will help the egg whites to congeal. If you see that the yolks are peeking up over the water, use a small spoon to gently drizzle water a-top of it.

Bring the water to a gentle boil,  add eggs one at a time quickly. Start your time from the first egg you poured in, time 3 minutes per egg. I like to remove the egg with a slotted spoon and also place on a paper towel to absorb the extra water.
