As you all know, I am an open book. Not only do I share my life here at The Modern Day Girlfriend, I also share my day to day, in the moment parts of my day with you on my social media! One thing I share more often than not on my Instagram ( @moderndaygf) stories & Twitter feed ( @moderndaygf) is my real and daily commitment of trying to keep to a healthier lifestyle than I have in the past.
I truly believe change doesn’t happen overnight. You have to continuously work on something you want, and most of the time, when it gets to the hardest point when it would be easier to just go back to your old ways, that’s when you have to keep pushing the hardest and stick with it. I never really understood that until I hit my weight loss plateau and it seemed as though eating right and staying active wasn’t doing anything for me. It seemed as though nothing was changing. I always thought I needed to see the change right away, but I have found for me to live a healthier and happier life I have to grant myself the time, space and acceptance. Change doesn’t happen overnight. My body didn’t put on the ten extra pounds overnight so it won’t come off overnight either. Taking the right care of my body is the greatest gift I can give myself.
I have tried everything when it comes to getting and staying in shape. I have shared with you my trials and tribulations of dealing with the effects of my eating disorders at a young age as well as some of my triumphs in overcoming extreme obstacles throughout my life.
For me, I am routine oriented and sticking to a realistic and doable daily routine is something that I knew would work for me and I continue to see changes in my mindset as well as my outward appearance. Most importantly though, I created a lifestyle change that I benefit from – mind, body and soul. I want to be strong and healthy. Whether our journies sound similar or you need a helping hand, I wanted to share with you a product that has helped me stay motivated both mentally and physically.

Ending note, I try to do something active every day of the week, from hour-long spin classes once to two times a week, to alternating leg, arm, & core days, to take my dog for a walk for at least 30 minutes.
