The Top Five Strategies for Decluttering a Small Space:
Look Up, Not Sideways: People often forget to store things up and not sideways. Get hanging holders, boxes that sit on top of each other, place storage boxes and or wood boxes on walls, etc.
Dual Purposes: Use your furniture as storage. Whether you are buying new furniture or using the furniture, you already have. Pro Tip– look at what you have and ask yourself can this be used to store things. Like a bed frame that has storage connected to it, an ottoman with storage, etc.
Make Storage Containers Your Best Friend: Small Storage containers are no longer for your storage unit but a way to keep your place organized. From Towels, remotes, blankets, etc, think of ways these pieces can fit into your home!
Say Goodbye: Say goodbye to the things you don’t need or never uses. I suggest giving them to a charity or Goodwill not only will you feel better about making more room in your place but the act of giving will make this action magnified!
Take Time Each Day: To put things back the way you found it, yes this sounds easier said than done but trust me it helps!
