Clear Skin Smoothie Recipe
You know I love smoothies, so I am going to keep this intro short and sweet just like this smoothie! I hope you enjoy this smoothie as much I do and enjoy the benefits of it as well.
Skin Benefits of each ingredient:
Coconut Water: Along with helping aid in reducing bloat, coconut water is super hydrating to your skin. Coconut themselves have a well known anti-aging agent called cytokinin which helps the skin look fuller and more firm.
Banana: Banana’s are rich in potassium as you may know but did you know they are also packed with moisture which helps keep the skin hydrated thanks to Vitamin A.
Mango: Mangos are packed Antioxidants. Packed with Potassium and Vitamin E, that together helps keep your cell hydrated.
Apple: Many studies have shown that apples contain abundant amounts of elastin and collagen that help keep the skin looking young.
Spinach (OPTIONAL): Plain and simple, spinach contains antioxidants that fight against all types of skin problems.
Avocado: Along with many other amazing benefits for your overall health, avocados help hydrate the skin.
Flaxseed: Flaxseeds are PACKED with Omega-3 fatty acids. Flax seeds have been known to be a helping friend in keeping your skin smooth and hydrated.
Collagen (optional): Even though there have been studies none have shown the true benefits of using collagen powders or supplements. I personally have been using collagen and I notice a difference for myself so I add it. Collagen which we all produce in our body but decreases as we all get older plays a role in strengthening your skin and helps with the elasticity of your skin and keeping it hydrated.
1/2 cup coconut water
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen pineapple
1 green apple sliced
2 cups spinach
1 tbsp flaxseed
1 tbsp collagen
Place all ingredients minus your toppings into a blender and blend!
