Typically known for its heady, earthy aroma & flavor, Truffle oil can heighten the taste of any dish you pair it with along with its seemingly hefty price tag, Truffle oil is often overlooked when it comes to mealtime. However, this shouldn’t stop you from cooking your next meal with this delicious accouterment and here is why!
Truffles come in all shape, sizes, etc. By using truffle oil in your recipe instead of slices of the truffle itself, the oil allows for a delectably romantic flavor to be infused into your dish. Not only creating an unforgettable bite but by using the oil it allows for you to spread out the flavor amongst many date night dishes to come.
One of my favorite Truffle oils to use is Truffle Hunter’s White Truffle Oil, not only is it Amazon’s number one best-selling truffle oil it is super affordable, $13.95! They also have other pairings, sizes, etc and available for Prime delivery.
Truffle oil is generally used as a finishing oil to dress dishes before serving. Traditionally you see truffle oil at restaurants or used in the home to drizzle over polenta, pizza, risotto or one of my favorites pasta. A go-to recipe of mine using Truffle Hunter’s Truffle Oil is pasta with Kale, Mushrooms and Truffle oil. The earthly flavors of both the oil and the mushrooms are just the perfect notes to rounded out our meal. My boyfriend and I love the flavoring pairings and have this dish at least one to two times a month.
If you are not ready to try it out on your main course you can sprinkle it over eggs, cheese, and French fries but try this recipe out first and see how using truffle oil in your date night recipes can elevate a typical dish into a date night delicacy under $50!
