Recipe Hack: On A Budget? Three Thanksgiving Side Dishes
We all know the holidays can be the best of time and the “stressful” of times especially if you are hosting the festivities. It cannot only be extremely stressful but time consuming and expensive.
Whether you are hosting this years holiday shenanigans or you’re bringing a dish to your family or friend’s house here are three simple, affordable and delicious side dishes to serve up that will have your guest coming back for more.

Recipe Hack 1: Alex T Cook’s Crispy Smashed Potatoes With Sriracha Sauce
Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds baby yukon gold potatoes
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Kosher salt & fresh cracked pepper
1/2 cup vegan mayonaise (or regular, which ever you prefer)
2 tablespoons ketchup 1 tablespoon sriracha hot sauce (add more if you like it spicier)
1 tablespoon bread and butter pickles,
diced 1 scallion, chopped fine.
sprinkle of kosher salt and pepper

Recipe Hack 2: Cristina Ferarre’s Creamed Spinach
Ingredients:
3 pounds fresh spinach
4 tablespoons unsalted buter
5 tablespoons flour
4 cups warm milk
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 teaspoon fresh nutmeg, grated

Recipe Hack 3: Lesile Durso’s Twist On Your Traditional Green Been Casserole!

Ingredients:
1 1/2 fresh green beans, washed, trimmed, and cut into 2 inch pieces
3 tbsp. butter substitute like Earth Balance
4 oz. mushrooms, chopped
1/2 onion, finely diced
2 garlic, diced
1 tbsp. flour
1 cup plain soy milk
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
salt and pepper
1 vidalia onion, halved and sliced
4 tbsp. flour
a pinch of paprika
a pinch of cayenne
