How To Make Your Own Peanut Butter
I would rather go shopping in a grocery store than a department store. What about you?
Ever since I was a little girl, I loved going to the grocery store with my mom, we would spend hours in the store creating recipes in our heads, still to this day when I get a chance to go grocery shopping with my mom, I do it. I still can hear the laughter that erupts every time as we think of the same thing as we ask our selves what’s for dinner. I distinctly remember how much I would look forward to getting to the section where you could grind your own peanut butter, the smell, the sound, it was just everything.
Now as I am older and my local grocery store doesn’t have this option, pre-made peanut butter doesn’t really cut it for me, don’t get me wrong there are brands that I love and if I just don’t have the time or can find the right peanuts I grab because they are made with seemingly the same simple ingredients that this recipe calls for!
If you have always wanted to make your own peanut butter, flavor it with some of your favorite add in’s like chocolate chips, this recipes is the perfect go to! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups salted peanuts ( You can use honey roasted peanuts if you want honey roasted peanut butter)
OPTIONAL ADD-INS
- 1–2 tbsp organic chocolate syrup
- 1–2 tbsp honey
- 1–2 tbsp hemp seeds
- 1-2 tbsp ground flaxseeds
- 1/3 cup small chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup chopped peanuts
If you find that your mixture is getting to hard add some peanut oil in it little by little.
INSTRUCTIONS
First you will want to add peanuts to a food processor or your blender, pulse for about a minute until it forms a dry and crumbly like flour. Scrap down the sides and then pulse again for like 2-3 minutes, this will allow the “flour” like mixture to become more of a thick paste. Keep pulsing for another minute or so until it becomes smooth and creamy. If you are adding anything into it, this is where you would want to. Next step enjoy! Make sure to keep this stored in a tight container in the fridge.
