How to make your own Charred Jalapeño Goat Cheese.

IMG_0940

This recipe is one of my favorites and it is so simple to make. A couple of years ago I found out that I was severely allergic to cow’s milk. You got it, that means, no ice cream, nachos, pizza, cheese plates, etc.  For a half Italian, half greek girl that was like telling me my worst nightmare! However, there was light at the end of my cheesy tunnel, I went to the doctor and found out that I could have goats milk just not cow. You could imagine my delight, I ate every kind of goat cheese I could put my hands, on feta, etc.

After while, the typical goat cheese flavor started to get to me so I started adding things to it. It is such a versatile cheese that flavors just melded so well. The Charred Jalapeño flavor is one of my favorites, I am spicy girl so this one is right up my alley. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do,  I put it on everything, toast, bagels, pizza, sandwiched , tacos you name it I probably tried it!

Ingredients

1 Roll of Goat Cheese

1 Medium Size Jalapeño

Instructions

First, you will unwrap the goat cheese and place into glass bowl.

On your stove top place jalapeño over flame, using tongs allow heat to char the outside of jalapeño.

In another small bowl place charred jalapeño and cover with plastic wrap. Let it sit for 10 minutes, after rinse in cool water, rub off the char,  cut top and seeds out, throw away the skin and seeds.

Chop finely and place into bowl with the goat cheese in it. Mix until combined.

Place in food container and let sit in  fridge  for at least an hour.

Before serving if you would like you can sprinkle the EVOO over it.

Enjoy!
