If you have been my friend on here for while or on my social media, you know that I love drinking a smoothie a day. Not only is it an easy, delicious and quick way to take in your fruits and vegetables for the day but it is a great way to introduce food to your digestive system.
Smoothies are one of the easiest breakfasts you can make, whether you are looking to get more fruits and vegetables into your diet, you are wanting to bulk up or lean out, or just enjoying having a smoothie!
I started drinking smoothies because I had extreme digestive issues and I researched natural ways to help ease it. One of the ways was starting the day with a smoothie packed with gut healing properties. Not only did this help my stomach issues it helped lean me out. Which is great for my upcoming wedding!
As you can imagine, making a smoothie a day, I have tried out a lot of recipes and researched a lot of what I put in them. I used to love all fruit smoothies but I quickly learned that is a lot of sugar which doesn’t help with your long term energy and it stores in your body differently than if it has protein in it.
In order to create a filling smoothie that will help you lean you out, you may want to include these add -ins
- A cup fruit or veggies: Fruit and veggies are high in fiber and antioxidants.
- Plant based milk with protein: Like Pea Protein. I
- Add fat: Like peanut butter, chia seeds, hemp seeds, avocado.
- Extra protein: 1 scoop plant protein powder or you can try out some of these non traditional protein to add to smoothies. Click here for them
To maximize your weight-loss potential, and to increase the protein, healthy fats, and fiber in your recipe, add these ingredients to your smoothies.
