BBQ Burger with Creamy Slaw and Crunchy Pickles Laura lean the modern day girlfriend

With grilling season upon us, I have partnered with Laura Lean to make this delicious recipe for  BBQ Burgers with Crunchy Creamy Slaw using with their 92% Lean/8% Fat Ground Beef. This  juicy burger smothered in BBQ and topped with cold, crisp, creamy slaw and crunchy pickles, is perfect for your next summertime get together!

I will be the first to admit, I rarely eat meat but recently was told I need to get more iron into my diet especially during our fertility journey because for me the iron supplements weren’t cutting it. Now coming to think of it with all three or my pregnancies all I craved were burgers, so definitely my body was telling me something. I also was told red meat was the best way to incorporate it into my diet so you may or may not see more recipes including meat like this BBQ Burger with Creamy Slaw and Crunchy Pickles on The Modern Day Girlfriend.

With Summer upon us I thought, what better way to incorporate eating more red meat than with a deliciously  juicy burger that is packed with flavor and isn’t too heavy on fats. That’s where Laura Lean comes in, Laura Lean is #1 selling natural beef brand in the U.S.  Not only does it taste delicious, it is easy to cook up and it’s  affordably priced but  they raise their cattle with no added hormones or antibiotics and feed them a vegetarian diet; so they can honestly state natural on their packaging. Unlike other companies that just refer to the USDA definition: “minimally processed and contains no artificial ingredients.”

NO thank you!

Laura Lean can also proudly state that they are gluten free which seems funny to say  because shouldn’t all  meat be gluten free, but many that you will find at your local grocery store are not but Laura Lean’s  ground beef is gluten free and also is  an excellent source of protein.

Okay so I think you catch my drift, I found a great option for your summer bbq’s and beyond, so I grabbed a few packages of  Laura’s Lean 92% Lean 8% Fat Ground Beef, some burger buns my favorite pickle chips from Grillo’s Pickles, freaking delicious, a jar of True Made Foods BBQ sauce, which if you never had, run don’t walk and a few other things to make our BBQ Burger with Creamy Slaw! Full ingredient list and recipe below!

So let’s get cooking shall we?

Cooking note: Lean beef tends to cook in about a third less time than higher fat beef, so be sure not to overcook the ground beef beyond the recommended 160 degrees. A favorite marinade, olive oil or even a little water may be added when cooking to keep the ground beef extra moist and full of flavor.  Recommend  to flip the burgers only once or twice while cooking. Constant flipping causes a loss of juices and longer cook time.
