Must-Have Haircare This Winter: Olaplex
I don’t know if you are like me but during quarantine I have really just let my hair do its thing, I just don’t feel I am ready to get my hair done by someone else again at this current time due to the pandemic.
With that said, you could probably imagine the root situation I have going on. However, I do have to say not doing anything to my hair like dying it has been such a game-changer as it has allowed my hair some time to heal as I went from blonde to brown to platinum blonde back to more dirty blonde, etc.
These past 7 months my hair has grown maybe about 4 -5 inches my hair grows so fast partly because of genetics and partly because I believe my daily intake of collagen but I am not a doctor so I can’t say that for a fact but I feel like it helps. On top of my hair growing really fast, my hair like I said before has gone through some major changes, color, and length-wise. My hair not only grows fast but it can be super dry and oily all at the same time.
Which leads me to today, not too long ago my sister turned me onto a company called Olaplex. If you follow my sister on Instagram, @alextcooks, she shares openly about her hair journey, heck she shares everything openly. She has used an oil of theirs and since she started using it I have noticed a difference in how her hair looked. I decided to check out Olaplex’s website and the products they offered. I found their Bond Maintenance kit and it seemed like everything I needed to get my hair back on track! I decided to make the investment because your hair health is important too!
I am also a big believer in switching up your beauty products during the summer and winter months as your skin, hair, etc changes as the weather does. Even though I have a feeling this kit will stand the test of time no matter the season!
Okay, so I have been using Olaplex’s Bond Maintenance kit of No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo, No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner, and their No.6 Bond Smoother for about a month now. I have to say I was a converted instantly.
Following the instructions on the bottles, I instantly felt the difference when I was shampooing my hair. It was the first time I felt shampoo “work”. The conditioner you leave on for 3 minutes so I scrubbed my face, etc while I waited, and once I washed that out of my hair, my hair had never felt softer after a wash.
Once I was out of the shower, I added a small amount of their No.6 Bond Smoother as directed and went along with my day. I obviously brushed it but whenever I try out a hair product I never add heat to my hair the first go around, it is just something I do. I want to see how my hair naturally reacts to everything so I just let it air dry.
I couldn’t stop touching my hair for days, it was so soft and I have to say it actually seemed to bring out the color of my hair nowhere does it say that but I felt like it did, it created such beautiful clean shin to it and held a curl for days! I definitely recommend this product.
