Homemade Tortilla Chips

Open our cabinets and you will be sure to find a bag of our homemade tortilla chips.  These chips are great way to whip up a quick snack anytime especially with guacamole and salsa. Yes, you can go to the grocery store and buy them, open the bag and be done with it but sometimes store bought chips are laced with extra additive that really don’t need to be there.  It is heart healthy to bake your chips instead of fry them, it gives you extra crunch with less calories. Once out of the oven we like to sprinkle salt and squeeze lime on them for that extra kick of flavor.

Ingredients:

8-10 Corn Tortilla

Extra Virgin Olive Oil  Spray (for coating)

1 Teaspoon of Salt for sprinkling

Juice of  1 lime

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven 400 F
  2. Coat a 11 x 13  baking sheet with cooking spray
  3. Spray top of tortilla with spray
  4. Cut tortilla into quarters.
  5. Spread onto your baking sheet, single layer
  6. Bake  until golden brown 8-10 minutes
  7. Squeeze on lemon juice & sprinkle on the salt
