My mom always made homemade nut butter for us growing up and still has a fresh jar every time we visit. It is so easy to make, I thought why not share it here on The Modern Day Girlfriend! Great for snacks, in sandwiches, in smoothies, and more!

2 cups roasted organic almonds
Pinch of sea salt
2 tbsp honey (optional)
1 tbsp avocado oil (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Place the almonds and salt in a food processor or a high speed blender, blend until it begins to form a more clumpy texture. Stop and scrap down the sides, add the honey, oil, vanilla extract and salt. Blend until combined or too desired consistency. You’re literally going to think it’ll never blend, TRUST ME, it will! Keep scraping down the sides and breaking up the ball of almond butter, and finally, it form a creamy texture!
Store in an airtight container.
