Hack: My 7 Lifehacks That Make Moving Easier
1.Get rid of what you don’t need or use anymore:
As you are packing up you’re are sure to find things that you haven’t seen in awhile and for that reason, stop and ask yourself do I need to bring this with me or should I get rid of it? One of my rules I use is if I haven’t used it in a year or more, toss it!
2.Use trash bags as garment bags:
I learned this trick from one of my best friend’s in college, and I am so happy I did. Take a handful of your hanging clothes, create a hole in the bottle of the trash bag and place the whole over the hangers. Tie up the trash bag at the bottom. Once you move into your new place, just put the hanging trash bags up in the closet, rip the trash bag open, and your closet is halfway there! Please remember to recycle the trash bags!
3.Take pictures: Whether you are moving in or out.
If you’re a renter, make sure you document exactly how your house looks when you move in and if you are moving out of a rented place as well. This seemingly should help with getting the deposit back. You want that deposit back!
4.Color code your boxes:
I like this trick because I am super OCD if you color code your boxes to each room it helps not only you but the movers, friends and or family too in where the boxes should go.
5.Label your boxes on the side, not the top:
This just makes it easier to see when they are either staked up in the moving truck or out!
6.Remeber to keep track of your moving expenses:
Some are tax- deductible.
7.Change Your Address In Advance:
It just helps to move into your new space so much easier; you don’t have to wait a week or two once you already moved in!
