Recently, I just started dating this incredible man who seemed too good to be true! Guess what? He wasn’t! Yes, we all have our baggage, but his didn’t seem to weigh him down or prevent him from finding, starting, and being in a healthy, happy relationship. Where did I meet such lovely man? INSTAGRAM!

“ He slid into my DM box, like!”

He and I both exchanged communication via Instagram messenger back and forth for a good couple of days. Not only was he charming, engaging, made me laugh, and was just darn right handsome as hell, but also we felt instant chemistry. We took our direct messaging to text messaging, then phone calls, and then to Facetime. I vetted him like I have done with every other guy I met online, which I shared in my previous post about how not to get cat-fished.

I loved listening to him speak and learning more about his life. We both could tell that this connection was something completely different than any one before. We wanted to meet each other ASAP! LADIES, I DON’T condone meeting a guy from the Internet in person until you Facetime with him. This is my own personal preference; it helps put my mind at ease knowing the guy in the pictures is the same guy I am talking to over the phone. If you don’t have Facetime you can use G– chat, Skpye, etc.

He is a man who doesn’t really care for Facetime, doesn’t text ALL day, and doesn’t know what an Emoji is. However, I kept pressing to Facetime in a nice, fun way. I cracked jokes, making light of the situation. I explained that we had to at least Facetime once before we met, so my gut could be settled. Even though I had a feeling he was who he said he was, I still wanted to play it safe. I didn’t want to waste any more time or emotions if I didn’t have to.

My instincts were correct and the “investigation” I did prior was spot-on. We finally chatted on Facetime and he was who he said he was. Then, believe it or not, he started using Emoji’s!

A true guy’s guy, you might guess how out of character this Emoji use was for him. When I received our “love” story told by little tiny pictures, it was just as expressive, beautiful, and powerful as the written word- I melted.

Out of respect for his privacy, I am not going to share our Emoji love story just yet, but you are all part of our tale too! Thank you for being such an important and beautiful part of the story! PicMonkey Collage
