Monday Motivation!Advice About Becoming A Mommy Blogger From Women Who Did It
It’s funny even though I am not a mom just yet most of my mommy blogger friends in real life and online are kick-ass mama’s! Regardless if you are a stay at home more or a working mom, I admire each and every one of you for making it work!
Today on the blog I am highlighting four mama’s that don’t make it look easy, wait what did I just say that! YES, I DID and I say that in the most wonderful way possible because they make it REAL! I literally love reading their blogs, following their journies along social media and watching their Instagram stories.
I hope you find a little bit of joy in their nuggets of knowledge as I did! Enjoy this week’s Mama addition of Monday Motivation!
Y’all I literally am obsessed with her, her kids are not only so cute but funny & her instastories are like watching a sitcom but that’s not the only reason I love her and following her journey! I love being taken on a ride through the brutal and honest ( filled with love) yet real reality of being a mom!
1. What’s your #1 career tip or piece of advice you would give someone who is looking to start their own thing online? (i.e a blog or a social media influence. )
Be authentic. Ultimately, at the end of the day, that’s what will translate and, even if it’s slower than you’d like, grow your following and help you gain an engaged audience.
2. How do you balance your blog life with your mom life?
Luckily for me, I have a lifestyle blog and my life these days largely revolves around my family so often I’m working on posts that involve them and our adventures. But, I don’t believe there’s such a thing as true balance. My life always feels a bit uneven. When there’s something pressing with my kids, the blog takes a backseat. If I have a work obligation, I have to prioritize that, get some help and miss moments with them. I try not to put pressure on or guilt myself when either happens, knowing I’m making the best decision possible at that particular moment and everything- and everyone- will be okay.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. – Eleanor Roosevelt
You know when you meet someone and you just know they are meant to be in your life. Well, this little lady was meant to be in mine. The second I met her she greeted me with the warmest hug and I felt like I knew her forever. Her spirit was kind, generous and real. She is all about women empowerment and my goodness is she a powerhouse of a lady!

Make sure to know your motivation behind what it is you are starting, what success looks like to YOU and how much time you have to give to this new baby you are birthing. You can make any plan to move forward and take next steps once you are clear on your WHY. If you always lead with your WHY, the picture in your head can change as you pivot to get closer to the feelings and motivation instead of goals, which is more sustainable to achieve.
2. How do you balance your blog life with your mom life?
Balance for me is not daily. It’s balancing the craziness weekly and monthly. I look at my schedule as something we maneuver on a constant basis. I find we all need breaks in between busy and slow moments.
If I have a big event and need to have the kids be in childcare longer than normal, I accommodate the day before or the day after. I have no longer committed to back to back business. My kids need one day to just chill and be with me after I leave them for an entire day or have to rush them around.
We are still working on the balance, but we are finding out what works together and I plan for it to be a team effort. Some days I can’t be everything to them and I have to be ok with that. It’s not easy, but choosing to live a life as an entrepreneur is something I want them to know too.

“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” – Brene Brown
I met Ami at an event and her beauty stopped me but what made me want to know more about her was the way she spoke of what she does, her family and others was something I could relate to. When you meet her you know she is the real deal and she owns it and that’s a quality I admire about her a lot.

Invest in yourself, and most importantly, believe in your brand and what you stand for. Then and only then will others believe too. I’m learning that to really make things happen for yourself you have to step outside of your comfort zone and ultimately strive to make your passion your paycheck. As a mom too, it’s really important to be able to wear many different hats and have success in each that reinforce the others- family life, career, and health. Also, there’s no right or wrong way to start- you really just have to DO IT!
2. How do you balance your blog life with your mom life?
I actually like to refer to this more as “work-life harmony”. There are times when I will be giving more attention to my kids and at times work takes priority. Whatever the case, I’ve learned over the years that not everything has to be given equal weight to at all times. I think as Moms, women put so much pressure and guilt on ourselves when we can’t show up 150% for both work and family. For me, I’ve actually found my harmony in choosing a career in something I’m very passionate about. Blogging has allowed me to work hard during the time frame and hours that work with my schedule, and therefore has allowed me to still have a very hands on approach as a Mom. I’ve really learned to embrace the idea of working smarter and more efficiently to achieve my career goals and also say no to things that will prevent me from being home when it matters the most.
3. What is your favorite inspirational quote?
One of my favorite quotes I try and live by on this journey is to “attract what you expect. Reflect what you desire. Become what you respect. And mirror what you admire”. It’s so easy to get caught up in this game of numbers and likes and “followers” so remember who you are at the core and keep those that are like minded in your inner circle.
I met this little mama at a blogger event as we were walking out. Her son had cooler style than I could ever attempt to create for myself and she just had this calm and easy to her that made me want to spark up a conversation with her. Boy, was I happy I did, she is not only an amazing freaking funny mom but a good friend & supporter of others! Every woman should have a friend like Sam!

My #1 career tip of advice would be to just do it. I know that sounds simple but that is the advice I gave myself and followed. I had talked about starting a blog for a few months and when I finally said it out loud one day to someone, I was suddenly accountable and had to see it through. I was terrified and very intimated about where to start, how to execute some of my ideas and I wondered if anyone would even visit my blog or read my content. I decided that didn’t matter. I had to just do it. I had to create and put my best foot forward and trust that the rest would follow. Set a goal. Do your best. Then feel good about achieving that!
2. How do you balance your blog life with your mom life
Am I?! lol
But seriously.. every day is different. I’ve given myself permission to have days where I feel off balance. Some days I’m in full on mama mode and work might take a back seat and some days the opposite feels true.
My family is always going to be my #1 priority but I also feel I’m a better mama when I’m creative. Therefore my blog, video creation, and performing will always have to be important too!
To organize my time I rely on apps and I have gotten better at delegating. I also have amazing people I work with because of #teamwork.
3. What is your favorite inspirational quote?
I feel like it’s overdone and probably everyone’s high school yearbook quote, but this quote has meant a lot to me since middle school. I always go back to it and it has truly inspired over the years.
“and I, I took the road less traveled and that has made all the difference”. Robert Frost.
My folks always taught me to take the road less traveled, that it was ok to be different, to be scared and to feel unsteady on my feet. They taught me that that meant I was taking the right path. I learned to take risks in my career and realize those risks could pay off. I love this quote and always go back to it!
