6 Things To Do On Bumble To Get Their Attention
I have written about Bumble many times on The Modern Day Girlfriend and I am not done yet! As you know, Bumble is a dating app that allows women to talk first, essentially giving them the power to initiate conversation with their matches. These features make Bumble different than Tinder, Ok Cupid, etc. Many of my girlfriends like Bumble more than any other dating app for these reasons. Just like dating in the real world, not just through your touch screen, there are many dating mistakes to be made. Gathering experiencing from not only my personal encounters with certain Bumble Bees, but also from my girlfriends, I have complied a list of things not to do when swiping left or right on Bumble.
Don’t Seem to Eager but Don’t Leave Them Hanging.
Again, Bumble creates an environment where the woman has to initiate conversation, which is great. However, when it comes to starting up the conversation right away, you don’t want to come off too strong, give it an hour or so before you reach out. Try setting a reminder to go back and check out his photo and bio again. Second looks are always helpful, especially if the first swipe you did was when you were “Bumbling & Chilling” with a bottle of wine and your girlfriends. After taking a breather, if you still think you want to start up a conversation with him feel free! Connect and engage with the luck fellow.
Keep Your Eyes Open:
This does not only mean look solely at the photos of him shirtless on the beach, but also take the time to read his bio. Yes, pictures can be worth a 1,000 words, but you want to make sure he can put words together, so READ his BIO!
Don’t Swipe Right To Everyone:
Just because they are at your finger tips doesn’t mean that you should swipe right to everyone you see on Bumble. If you are truly serious about finding someone to date take your time to look at their photos & bio.
Shake It off:
I will admit that sometimes when I was swiping through the dating jungle app known as Bumble, I forget about one of the most useful add-ons they give us women. Bumble offers the ability to shake back on a match we might have “accidently” swiped left on when we meant to swipe right! The shake back feature allows you to take back that left swipe and check him out again!
Be Engaging:
Don’t start a conversation with “Hi.” Find something in their bio or in their pictures that can spark a conversation. In a previous blog post, I wrote about ways to start a conversation on a dating app. Feel free to check it out if it interests you!
It’s Not You, It’s Them:
I will leave this one short and sweet. If the person doesn’t answer you back, DON’T take it personally because it is not you. Bumble makes you very aware that there’s plenty of other Bee’s buzzing around. Unlike Tinder, Bumble is more “relationship goal oriented.” Tinder’s reputation is as just a hook up site, so don’t take it personally, it really isn’t you. Unlike hooking up, relationships take longer to solidify, so don’t take anything too much to heart.
