Tips To Stay Organized In The New Year!
One of the biggest questions I get asked by my friends once January 1st rolls around is if I can help them get more organized, which is a typical New Year’s resolution. Known amongst my friends as the organized one, I often get asked how I am able to balance work, life, dating, and family without letting something slip!
Look, we are all human and with our busy lives all of us are bound to let things fall between the cracks! Whether you are an organized mess or everything has its place, making an effort every day to have your things in order can be the turning point for success or failure.
Having been asked for organizational help time and time again, I want to share with you, my modern day girlfriends, a few tips and tricks that I have gathered along the way. These tips have helped not only me, but also my friends and family stay organized! I hope you find these tips useful!
Write Everything Down: In an early Monday Motivation post, I shared how writing things down once you wake up is a great way to start off your day. You have a set plan in place for your day, which is a great tool to remain focused. There really is nothing like that reassuring feeling you get when you physically cross something off your “to-do” list.
Do One Thing At A Time: If you try to do too many things at once, your life not only gets chaotic around you, but also you feel unsettled internally as well.
Deadlines: By checking tasks off by a certain time and date, you will avoid leaving anything important until the last minute.
Find a Home for Everything: Everything has its place. From inside your closet to the books on the shelf, everything within your home has its own spot.
Walk Away: Walking away from something is not always a bad thing. Take a break to breathe, catch some air, and feel the sun. Let your mind and body re-charge.
De-Clutter: De-Cluttering is super beneficial to staying organized. Less stuff means less clutter. Less clutter means less of a headache. Remember, if you are getting rid of anything that is still in good condition that you just have no need for anymore, donate what you don’t want to your local charity or GoodWill! It is always important to give back.
